Such Garbage

No matter where I go, no matter how remote the location, there is always garbage. Lots of it. Plastics and other garbage. Humanity's gift to the oceans. In fact, there is usually so much trash that it's impossible to photograph it all. Sharks. Slaughtered.

It seems like no matter where I go, I come across sights like this: All that's left of two little sharks The fact that I took these photos inside a national marine park in the Sea of Cortez just compounds the tragedy. Green Turtle. Dead.

Some things just suck. This is a juvenile green turtle (Chelonia mydas) that appears to have been killed by a fishing line and hook: Juvenile green turtle killed by a fishing line and hook We came across the carcass floating in the middle of the ocean.
