Thanks for the great read, I am actualy at Eastern Fields at the moment, Carl’s Ultimate is indeed unreal there was a “smoking” fast current today WOW! it was unreal. It is a shame about the lack of sharks too. fakarava in the Tuomto Atol ( French Polynesia) is the place to see 100’s still.
The weather is perfect, like a lake out here at the moment. “Eastern Fields” is definitely up there on the Best of the best.
I am sure tomorrow be awesome again.

Thanks for the report – your posts are never boring! Very sorry to hear about the exploitation of sharks and other fish – the Eastern Fields were on my “must do” list for years.

I do hope that population will recover somehow but I’m afraid that’s impossible since stupidity of mankind will prevent this …

Thankyou for such a great write up about Eastern Fields. I met Carl Roessler last July on Rodney Fox’s boat and he mentioned it in passing as one of his faves which was when I first heard of it – he was too modest to say there was a dive site out there named after him!

Even with the absence of the sharks (and I bet everyone else reading your article shares your anger/despair about their disappearance) I would dearly love to get out there.

I am hoping to go to Yonaguni next year and crossing my fingers the hammerheads will still be around…

Great report. What a wonderful destination. I met your friend Carl Roessler last week and he mentioned you. At the same event Bob Halstead was speaking about PNG and the wider area and was waxing lyrically about Eastern Fields.
