					<description>Hey Tony,
Quite a story and one that hits a lot of nails on the head! Hard to believe that in 2007 this is the state of air travel in the U.S (and elsewhere). Right before I read your post I was reading about Boeings new Dreamliner.... which conjured up images of the "glory days" of flying.... I bet you're much closer to the truth. In the end it all comes down to service...and in that regard I agree with you, there's a lot that could be learned from many of the asian carriers that still seem to manage decent prices, good service and palatable meals. My folks just arrived in Palau from Ireland via Frankfurt, Dubai, Manila and had very nice things to say about the service on Emirates. Hope you enjoy the States better than your trip getting there!
Cheers,
Dermot Keane

					<description>Hi Tony,

yes you are sooooooo right, when I travel on Continental, I have a nice meal before I leave for the airport, this "frass" (German word for junk food)you cant eat, The service, etc.,etc. I am lucky, same as you I travel a lot and know the short cuts, but for those who dont, oh boy.
All Asian airlines run rings around them, smiling faces, service, food my Brandy and wine for free.
They charge you US$5.00 for a cheap wine and US$5.00 for the headphone at Continental flights.
I am so glad I have my iPod and MacBookPro for entertainment, again thanks to Steve Jobs.
Cheer up buddy, I know how you feel, hope the rest of your journey will be better.
I have a glass of wine a and a good brandy on you later, take it easy my friend.
Cheers Gunther</description>

<description>I sympathise, truly do, and I agree on every single point. But if you think Atlanta is bad, please avoid Paris Charles de Gaulle and of course Heathrow which are both not for the faint hearted...
Happy travels

					<description>Hey T,
I was really feeling rotten about missing out on the JASA shark trip...until I read your Kvetch piece. What a nightmare!
But I'm sure you've forgotten the hardships of getting to Florida...now that you're in the water with those awesome beauties!
Hope you and Eric enjoy calm waters and luck out with the oceanics - spare poor me a thought when you see one! Have fun!
Looking forward to seeing your images/footage...
